Donny Benet has been a part of the Australian music scene for quite some time, playing with Jack Ladder and The Dreamlanders and signed with Rice Is Nice back in 2011. He's since released 4 albums and built up one impressive fan base who just absolute loose it to his sleek 80's pop synth beats. A sold out OAF is always a fun and packed to the brim time, and this was no exception.
The Don came out in a sleek white suit, with his iconic bald patch glistening under the bright lights. I love how the OAF have curtains too it perfectly suited the whole entrance of Donny and his excellent band. An incorporation of impressive bass playing skills, saxophone, synths and everything else in between, the crowd knew the words and everyone was having one hell of a groove. I loved the crowd that this type of gig brought together, everyone just smiling endlessly and getting down to the Don.
We got to hear newest single 'Santorini', 'Working Out' and 'Konnichiwa' just to name a few, all with epic video clips which you should all check out asap. There was great banter between the band and chemistry as a whole, the band cracked out an excellent cover by Kiss, "I Was Made for Lovin' You", which literally everyone in the venue were singing along to.
Excellent evening filled with extreme dancing, The Don is the best. What a great gig
