The Brissy boys, Dune Rats pulled the biggest crowd for their early set on Saturday, the amount of love for these guys is insane. Their set was full of nudity, swearing, bleaching, massive beach balls and various references to marijuana, and not only in the catchy tune of theirs, Dalai Lama, Big Banana, Marijuana.
Dune Rats know how to party, playing the funnest of tunes and making everyone dance. It was even better that the sun was out for everyone to enjoy as on the Friday Night it poured like crazy. I love that these guys just don't give a shit, they say and do whatever they want. Their lyrics are raw and extremely straight forward, their short punchy tracks make you dance and head bang almost instantaneously. Mostly playing tracks off their Self Titled album released last year in June, the crowd knew nearly every word of every song, songs like Superman, Funny Guy and When You're Around.

Throughout the set, goon sacks and joints were being shared left right and centre, all in the glory of the Dune Rat boys and what they represent. The boys only just announced their new Record Label, Ratbag Records with Byron Bay's Skeggs,  who scored spot on the Splendour In The Grass stage. Ratbag Records will release Skegss' Push Ups For A Dollar, the band's debut EP recorded in New York, shortly after Splendour In The Grass, so that is something to definitely get keen for.

Dunies pulled a sick crowd for such an early set, if you love epic rock and crazy fun make sure you catch these guys asap, but for now they are off on a huge tour with Fidlar over in the US and Canada.
