RUFUS @ 3 Oceans Winery, Margaret River, WA - 10/2/17 - With Special Guests: The Kite String Tangle, Yuma X, Pilerat's DJ's
Hundreds of people headed south of Perth this weekend to catch RUFUS on their 'Bloom' album Tour. 3 Oceans winery in Margaret River was littered with fairy lights and food vans ready for the excited West Australian crowd.
Setting the vibes once the gates opened were Perth favourites Pilerats DJ’s, playing to a venue that was filling quickly with their chilled, deep house vibes. The first band for the night was Yuma X, this girl has an incredible voice! She flawlessly and effortlessly serenaded us while we waited in the dreaded bar and ticket lines.
The Kite String Tangle played us into the sunset and by this time the excitement was definitely building, having not seen The Kite String Tangle for a couple of years, I was stoked to see him in action again. His live performance is always mind blowing, surrounding himself with his instruments and sample/drum pads he pulls off an incredible performance every time.
The suspense was building quickly for RUFUS, the set times were a little bit behind and the crowd was definitely eager for the guys to come out on stage. Finally they arrived and the crowd was pumped. Everyone was off their picnic blankets and onto their feet and the silhouette of people on shoulders against the lights was a sight to see. The laser, smoke and light show added an incredible element to the performance, forming clouds above the crowd as they cheered to smoky figures on the stage. RUFUS have never disappointed me, the delivery of their tracks live is really incredible for an electronic group.
Despite the guys touring their latest album Bloom, they played the crowds older favourites from previous album 'Atlas' and even had the wonderful Yuma X join them on stage towards the end of their set. Safe to say this band knows how to please a crowd and it was worth every minute of the road trip to get there!
