Plunging more than 80 feet, all members of the pop English indie band, Viola Beach, have died tragically. Kris Leonard, River Reeves, Tomas Lowe & Jack Dakin have died all but too soon as the band has just started making waves through the industry.
Police say the vehicle that the band was travelling in careened off a bridge in Stockholm – which had opened to let a boat pass underneath
According to SMH, Inspector Martin Bergholm said that, according to witnesses, the car just drove through the barriers before crashing into the canal.
"There were no brake marks on the road and it's very difficult to say how fast the car was going at the time," he said.
Bergholm told Aftonbladet (swedish newspaper): "The witnesses just saw a car beside them and kind of disappear. The only people who knew what went on inside the car are dead."
Police divers have recovered the bodies of the five men.
Our deepest condolences go out to the family & friends of the band.
The four piece had only recently put out their second single Boys That Sing via Communion Records. The label has promised to donate all proceeds from the sale of the single to support family members of the band and their manager.
Head on over to Itunes and support the boys.
