Local Gold Coast folk mastermind Angus Oastler returns with another enchantingly beautiful yet heartbreaking new EP Take Me to the Ward, after last week's release of single 'Sad Song'.
Angus's vocals remain consistently permissive and alluring, inviting the listener in to not only his world with gut-wrenching honesty and simple yet emotionally complex lyricism. Produced by fellow Gold Coast local and close friend to Angus, Fletcher Babb, for fans of sad, this is definitely the EP for you. Following the success of last year's The Lake EP, also done in collaboration with Babb featuring past single 'Deep Inside' it is clear Angus is only going up from here.
Title track 'Take Me to the Ward' follows Angus's unashamedly honest glimpse at mental health and living with an anxious mind. Following this theme of sadness and truthfulness following track 'Sad Song' sticks true to its name, recounting the feelings of loneliness and frustration experienced after rejection. Oastler finishes the EP on a slightly heavier note with 'Tiger's Way'
