We are super excited to announce the premiere of alternative wonders Atticus Chimp's latest single 'Bee Stung Lips'. Heavily influenced by punk, grunge and funk Bands from the early '00s, this new track fuses funk rhythm, smooth grunge melodies and a heavy rock vibe to convey a tongue-in cheek approach to the seemingly uncontrollable desires we humans have towards each other.
'Bee Stung Lips' came to life two years ago after the band decided to take their music in a whole new direction. Atticus Chimps front man Sam Bray had just discovered Royal Blood, and after binge listening to them for a week straight, the infectious opening riff was born.
Atticus Chips are alternative rock Gold Coast locals with songs varying from calm and melodic love songs to fast-paced heavy rock anthems that convey a message of dissatisfaction with authority and alienation of society. Consisting of members Sam Bray (guitar & vocals), Theo D'ambrosia (bass) and Jordan Vendy (drums), their sound is at times brash and unconventional but still incorporates the rhythm and hooks necessary for pop music that appeals to a massive demographic of people. The band have gained attention through supporting the likes of Butterfingers, The Chats, The Dead Love, Baltimore Gun Club, Horace Bones, Miniskirt. Birdhouse and Dollar Bill Murrays. With a sound reminiscent of band such as Violent Soho, DZ Deathrays and Tired Lion. the band can only get better from here on.
