Arriving nice and early to kick off the action packed 3 days ahead, presenters Sarah and Jariah drank their poison and headed into the event, making the agonising walk in, under the sweltering heat. First up Bullhorn, a legendary Brisbane band that had the tough task of opening the festival, we've been lucky enough to chat to these guys before and had a rough idea what to expect, but Falls selected well because they made everyone groove.
Kicking up a storm through the dust, next we perched ourselves nice and close to the action at the Valley Stage ready for Waaves. Waaves, an American rock band led by Nathan Williams screamed to the crowd that they LOVE Australia and were loving the crowds vibe. It didn't take long for a death pit to form. Bodies, limbs, and drinks flew everywhere. as they played tracks off their latest album V and No Life For Me. When they played King Of The Beach it was almost impossible to hear as my ears were overwhelmed by the volume of the crowd singing along.
As the sun shined bright, crowds grew rapidly and majority of punters make their way to the Valley Stage to watch the much loved, Art Vs Science. These guys have been touring around for many years now, the only downfall was why werent these guy's should of been given a later slot? The crowd went absolutely ballistic singing old favourites like Magic Fountain and Parlez Vous Francais.
One of our favourite moments of the festival yesterday was Peking Duck, they brought every single person down to the amphitheater, getting everyone pumped for the new year. As the light streamed down on the stage, watching from the side of the crowd you could see magic happening in the pit.
Cannot wait for Day 2, keep posted on our social media for immediate updates.
