It's time for a little change of pace for the GD FRNDS crew. We've put on a lot of events this year and now, it's time to give back to the people who've made us with an immersive live music, art and charity event.
Heading to the Gold Coast's new home for DIY events and cultural sprouts, Arthaus Projects on Saturday 4 August, we've collated a lineup of budding creatives who'll deliver an auditory and visual environment.
Providing musical accompaniment will be Høt Coffee—leading to the pack with their recently released debut EP, 'Backwards'. The electro-cross-hip-hop trail blazers are supported by Machine Club—who will have as slurry of new music to showcase—and SAVV—who's 'Future Forever' single has propelled them to unseeable heights.
The visual engagement will be curated by local Gold Coast artist and musician, Veople. Employing an intriguing, analogue approach to his art, Veople—real name Jay Jerymn—has an important dialogue beneath his pieces. Alternatively, local brand, Blood & Bone Clothing, will be displaying their goods including their new winter line of apparel.
GD FRNDS, in collaboration with Stone & Wood and Arthaus Projects, is raising money for Soul Soup Australia. A non-for-profit organisation offering counsellors, Healthcare and housing support, and when available, donate basic toiletries, packaged good, warm clothes and bedding to the homeless.
The GD FRNDS Showcase descends upon Arthaus Projects on Saturday 4 August. First in best dressed—this will sell out.
Høt Coffee, an intricate electronic duo, began solely from one jam of 23 year olds, Wade De Souza and Matt Hansford. A flawless and undeniably catchy mixture of electro-funk and hip-hop verses makes this local pair flexible and relentless in their passion.
Imposing a stratagem of music diversification, Machine Club is music you can dance to with a razor sharp edge. Eschewing a daring mix of post-punk, industrial and heavy electronica, Machine Club spurs a new shift in primal electricity. Debut single, 'Wise Up' is a seamless movement from his studio chair to the bigger stage.
A love affair of classic rock, pop and the versatile sounds of the synthesiser. SAVV are a group that successfully blend the old and the new. Specialise in a sound that can only described as epiphany pop, SAVV create an experience like none other through their truly unique sonic expression.
