After taking out #54 on Triple J's Hottest 100 last week with single 'Homely Feeling', and selling out rooms for their upcoming national tour, Hockey Dad have dropped a new video for 'I Wanna Be Everybody', the latest single from their upcomming 'Blend Inn' album which will be available February 9 on Farmer & The Owl via Inertia Music. This clip was directed and shot by good friend of the band Tom Healy between Hockey Dad's US tour and in their hometown of Windang, NSW. The track follows themes of social anxiety reflected through changed riffs, ever-confident vocals and punchy, punk-style drums synonymous to the band's sound. Blending tones of vulnerability behind the Hockey Dad's signature summer jam sound, this track is definitely one devoted Hockey Dad fans will love.
The accompanying Record Store Road Trip, kicking off on the same day as the 'Blend Inn's' release, will include free, all-ages appearances where Billy Flemming and Zach Stephenson will catch up with mates old and new for intimate sets and to sign copies of the new record. This tour is a chance to catch up with the pair before they embark on their massive 14 date national tour, where tickets still remain. Supported by Dear Seattle and Boat Show, the tour will see the band play to full house venues including twice at Sydney's Metro Theatre, four shows at Melbourne's The Corner Hotel and four at Brisbane's The Woolly Mammoth plus to shows at Adelaide's The Gov and Badlands in Perth.
The Record Store Road Trip kicks off on release day next Friday February 9 with a first stop at Redeye Records in Sydney. 'Blend Inn' is available for pre-order now on all formats incuding limited edition coloured vinyl. Last remaining extra album tour tickets are on sale now via www.hockeydadband.com.
