The already huge Maroochy Music & Visual Arts Festival (MMVAF) lineup gets even bigger today with a stack of exciting new music and visual artists.
Adding some chilled electronica to the ampitheatre is none other than Japanese Wallpaper who has just released a brand new single 'Cocoon'. The triple j Unearthed High Alumni and Hottest 100 artist recently toured with M83 and is sure to work in hits like 'Forces' and 'Breathe In' among some other fresh cuts from his forthcoming album. This young beat master joins an already huge contingent of legendary artists including Matt Corby, Peking Duk, Allday, George Maple, Client Liaison, Ngaiire, City Calm Down, Bad//Dreems, Vera Blue & Pop Cult.
It's a lineup that has been absolutely killing it lately. Just in the last week, Allday released a new track 'Sides feat. Nyne' and Vera Blue popped up all over the place including a guest vocalist feature on 'Papercuts' with Illy and on stage for Flume's mammoth Splendour set alongside another MMVAF artist, Ngaiire. With just over a month to go until festival time, there are whispers of even more new tunes from this bunch to get pumped about and no need to worry about clashes. With one main stage, free couches and zero timetable woes there's time to see absolutely everyone.
Also announcing today - Alex Lahey headlines the Champagne & Oyster Garden Stage at MMVAFjust over a week after thrilling crowds as the triple j Unearthed Splendour in the Grass opener. Experiencing a meteoric rise with tracks like 'Let's Go Out' and 'You Don't Think You Like People Like Me', the festival is delighted to add her to an already brimming swagger of artists.
MMVAF are also pumped to reveal 15 DJs for the Ghetto Blaster Stage, headlined by none other than the nation's preemminent youth current affairs host Tom Tilley (triple j). Tom will be joined by some of the region's best locals as well as legendary Brooklyn scratch DJ Total Eclipse.
