After the live gig lul of the Easter long weekend, the music scene is back in business this weekend with the kick off of East Coast tour from indie rock duo Mid Ayr. You may have seen these guys at BIGSOUND or on tour with Olympia, but starting this friday in Sydney, then finishing up in their hometown, Brisbane on the following Saturday, the boys are celebrating their second release ‘Elm Way’.
Showcasing their latest single off the EP, ‘Pocket Her Eyes’. The gutsy drums, passionate guitar riffs and euphoric synthesisers send you on an inspired journey similar to our friends Radiohead and Silversun pickups. All you need is a sunny day and an open road to really capture the vibe this talented act had created with their sound.
Joining them across the tour is Daggy Man, the side project of Thomas Calder who is the singer/songwriter of melancholic group The Trouble With Templeton. Port Macquarie singer songwriter, Brightness will be joining the tour in Sydney, Slowcoaching aka Dean Valentino will be joining them in his hometown of Brisbane and Future Haunts follow them to Brisbane.
Following from #1 most played Australian track on Triple J, ‘Letting You In’, each show sounds like it will be as exciting as the next. The incredible Hugh and Zac from Mid Ayr showcase local talent in each state, as well as touch on the pressures of social acceptance, love and loss in their latest recordings.
