Adelaide singer-songwriter Mike Waters has unveiled his new music video for his hit song, 'Feels Like Home'. Collaborating with his fanbase, Mike asked for fans to submit their favourite festival photos.
The result is an intriguing, and inspiring peek into why we hold such unwavering love for our summer music festivals in Australia.
The video, for which Mike worked on with filmmakers Max Rawicz and Jam Nawaz is the perfect accompaniment for a track which was inspired by a trip to Splendour In The Grass.
Speaking to Rabbit Radio at the start of September during BIGSOUND, Mike said the song was inspired by his first Splendour in the Grass trip last year.
"It was there that I had been pretty stressed out from working hard and I was worried that I wasn’t going to write any more songs that meant anything to me. There’s always this worry, as a song writer, that you’re going to be maxed out on what you’re capable of. I might write something and feel like it’s rehashing something I wrote previously but I was at this point where I had a handful of songs and thought, “What if that’s it? What if that’s the extent of my song writing ability?” I got lost in that mentality for a couple of weeks before heading off to Splendour in the Grass. That whole three day camping, getting dirty, seeing all those bands in a live setting and watching just how the artist and crowd interact with each other was a really eye opening experience."
Mike will be on tour early October throughout the country before jetting off to play his debut UK show. See the tour dates below:
