The popular suburban festival 'Surry Hills Festival' returns Saturday 24 September, and is celebrating its 14th year with an exciting and varied music line-up and public art program. The festival takes place in Ward Park, Shannon Reserve, Crown Street, Tudor Reserve, The Clock Hotel, laneways, venues, creative spaces and spreads across all area's!

The family friendly free festival will feature some of Australia's great artists kickin around at the moment. Supporting home grown artists the festival will also feature a pop up stage for musicians studying at the Australian Institute of Music.
Continuing the tradition of collaborative public artworks and free workshops being core to festival creation, the very famous Surry Sock Puppets, a riotous puppet show created with the residents of Northcott Community Centre is returning for 2016. And a new project added to this year is The Surry Hills Wall of Fame and the Popping Pom Poms.
A bold fancy dress public art project – The Surry Hills Wall of Fame – is a bold fancy dress art project which invites everyone to dress up and be photographed as Surry Hills’ most notorious characters including gangsters and rat catchers, Wimbo Park circus characters and many more. The Popping Pom Poms invites everyone to join in with breaking the world record of making pom poms –(who knew that was even a thing).
