Hey Sunshine is the name of a new music festival that’s going to be right here in Burleigh Heads. On Saturday the 14th of October, Burleigh Brewing Co. will be adorned in nostalgic-themed stage constructions, an enlivening light show, and projections of surf-films made by local filmmakers.
Now for the music!

The team behind Hey Sunshine is proud to announce The Belligerents will be headlining the festival, and punters can witness their debut album Science Fiction fresh after its September release. The Brisbane psych-rockers are noted for their alluring live performances, which will grace the Sunshine stage on the day.

Also joining them on the bill is Bootleg Rascal to sway hips with their hip-hop-doused electro soul beats; the Gold Coast’s very own Peach Fur, along with Galaxy Girls, The Cinema Wristys, Borneo, and Thunder Fox.
To keep crowd morale high (not only with the name) we have The Wonky Queenslander, (it is quite literally a house-looking dj booth on wheels) mixing tunes on vinyl and electronically between the acts.

Alongside the musical aspect, Hey Sunshine will display a live art feature with raffle proceeds being put towards local charities, market stalls and surf films.

“Live music events are so enriching to a community’s vigour and vibrancy and and I’m really excited to be adding Hey Sunshine to the flourishing Gold Coast music space.” – Anthea Bennett, Festival Director.

Hey Sunshine is a nourishing addition to the Gold Coast’s musical landscape, and a well-needed opportunity for creativity-lovers to come together.

You definitely don’t wanna miss this one! Show your support by buying a ticket on the Hey Sunshine website.
