The xx have just released details on their highly anticipated third album. Titled ‘I See You’. The new album will be released on Friday the 13 th via Turks and Remote Control Records. This third album consists of 10 tracks and is the follow up from trios last 2 albums XX and Coexists which collectively sold over 3 million copies between them, scoring them a fair few awards, a heap tone of festivals and tours.
Fans will be psyched to know that the new album ‘I see you’ marks a new era for the London trio which consists of Romy Madley Croft, Oliver Sim and Jamie Smith in a sonically new way. ‘I See You’ was recorded in London between march 2014 and August 2016 in New York, Marfa TX, Reykjavik, Los Angeles and London, so it seems like the trio has had some new ideas up their sleeves for a while now. ‘I see you’ produced by their own man Jamie Smith and Rodiah McDonald.
The band took to social media to say, “After many years, close together far apart, great highs, deep lows, heartache and healing, we are so happy to let you know we are releasing our 3 rd album ‘I See You’ on January 13 th 2017. We realise these are uncertain times and we hope the joy and love we found making the record will find its way out into the world in however a small way”.
On Hold is the first official offering from the band since their previous two albums which is available to download / stream today. ‘I See You’ will be available on CD, LP and digitally with each physical format featuring debossed mirri board sleeve. There will be 3 different vinyl versions of the album.
