New music for your ears, including the latest from local lads Von Villains, Last Dinosaurs, Animal Collective & More
VON VILLAINS - Losing My Mind (Independent)

Gold Coast band Von Villains are back with a smacking new tune 'Losing My Mind'. With a hint of the band evolving to a more electronic sound whilst keeping their indie/rock vibe. The band mentions that if it was all drum machines and synths it would be a modern broody dance track. With the song panning the guitars from left to right in the middle section, it's easy to listen to the song and literally feel like you're losing your mind!

Check out Von Villains at Nightquarter on the 4th of March!

FELICITY LAWLESS – Cowboy Cameraman (Independent)

Gold Coast folk-rock musician Felicity Lawless is renowned for her fiery, impassioned performances. A patchwork of energetic Gypsy and Latin infused rhythms; flashy Flamenco guitar, rich soaring vocals and vibrant creative expression, her live show is a whirlwind of magic and wonder. She captures an energy that elevates and inspires while infusing her audience with the simple yet profound joy of existence. Cowboy Cameraman to be released via iTunes and CD Baby on Friday 4th March 2016, from the album ‘Tails’ scheduled for release 1st April 2016.

Check out Felicity playing at Miami Marketta on the 5th of March.

LAST DINOSAURS –  Whirl (Dew Process)

Described by tastemakers like Howl & Echoes as “an irresistible sonic journey” ‘Wurl’ is the kind of effervescent, sun-drenched track that swirls with phased out guitars, pitter patter drum beats, and fuzzy vocals that combine to float you on a dream-like ride to the ends of the disco rainbow.

Singer and guitarist Sean Caskey says of the track “Wurl was written when we were taking a break to write music in a remote Japanese town. When I came home I built my first guitar pedal and came up with the lead riffs while testing it out. The song is about coming to terms with losing someone close to you because at the time a family member was dying. So this is kind of a dedication to them.”

ANIMAL COLLECTIVE – Golden Gal (Domino)

Animal Collective is pleased to announce the release of its eleventh full-length album, Painting With. The album will be out globally on 19th February via Domino. For fifteen years Animal Collective has been rewriting the musical map, their line-up and aesthetic shifting with each astonishing release as they continue their pursuit of a new psychedelia.

FKA TWIGS – Good To Love (Young Turks / Remote Control)

FKA twigs has  premiered a brand new single and video, ‘Good To Love’. The song was originally aired live during FKA twigs’ Soundtrack 7 residency at the Manchester International Festival and is produced by FKA twigs alongside Rick Nowels.

BAG RAIDERS- Checkmate (Universal Music Australia)

Lead single 'Checkmate' from their new Checkmate EP, features Benjamin Joseph (Safia). It's a softly spoken and understated song, the light at the end of the tunnel grows ever bigger as the subtly unfolding arpeggio finally culminates in a kind of quiet, personal triumph. A distinct dance floor groove and the hook in the chorus cements the striking return for the Bag Raiders in early 2016.

WOLFMOTHER - The Love That You Give (Universal Music)

Ten years after their arrival, Wolfmother have returned with what could arguably be called their best work to date. With VICTORIOUS, Stockdale once again arrives right on time: in an era dominated by single-song downloads, this is an album worthy of repeat listens from top to bottom.  The album was produced by multi-grammy winner Brendan O'Brien.
(PEARL JAM, AC/DC, CHRIS CORNELL, BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN)

LE VILLEJUIF UNDERGROUND - On The Seine (Rice is Nice)

It’s your new favourite psychopaths: Taking up a space you thought you knew with the same red-faced dictator at the forefront, author and occasionally prolific Townsville songwriter Nathan Roche. On The Seine will have you hanging for coastal vibes, beer in tow and bopping a long.
