PARQUET COURTS - Dust (Remote Control Records)
Recorded over the course of a year against a backdrop of personal instability, Human Performance is the new album that was released on the 8th of February by Parquet Courts. This album massively expands the idea of what a Parquet Courts record can be. Dust is the latest track to come off the album.
THE MURLOCS – Compensation (Remote Control Records)
Tight-knit garage R&B outfit The Murlocs have unveiled Young Blindness, their second full-length LP out Friday 18 March via Flightless / Remote Control Records. In addition, the band have shared their latest cut from the record, 'Compensation' which premiered on Richard Kingsmill's 2016 last Sunday. You can catch the band performing the new LP on their national album tour hitting Adelaide, Perth, Melbourne and Sydney this March and April.
LOOSE TOOTH – Bites Will Bleed (Milk Records)
New track from Melbourne guitar-pop three piece Loose Tooth called 'Bites Will Bleed'. It is the latest single to be lifted off their forthcoming debut EP Saturn Returns out April 1st via Milk! Records. Loose Tooth’s 'Bites will Bleed' is filled with brooding harmonies and gritty guitars!
LUH - I&I (Create/Control)
UH unveil a brand new track and video. Watch the video for ‘I&I’, the first official music to be released from their forthcoming album, set to be released in Australia via Create/Control + Mute. LUH (which stands for Lost Under Heaven) is Ellery Roberts and Ebony Hoorn. Over the past two years, they have been releasing music, art, photography, film and manifestos into the world, including 2014’s‘Unites’ video and the expansive ‘Lost Under Heaven’ music and artwork package at the end of last year. This track has eerie vocals, coupled with emotive lyrics that begins slow, then builds into this incredible jam!
SAHARA BECK – Here it comes (SUGARRUSH Music & Create/Control)
Sahara Beck releases ‘Here It Comes’, the first official single to be lifted off her forthcoming album titled ‘PANACEA’ which is set to be released in 2016 via SUGARRUSH Music & Create/Control. ‘Here It Comes’ written and produced by Sahara and co-produced with Jeff Lovejoy (Powderfinger, Tex Perkins, Evil Eddie) is a shimmering slice of sparkly indie-pop and muddy blues. This track is lyrically direct, deeply personal, Sahara explains “the song talks to the pressure, vulnerability and anxiety many of us feel dealing with day-to-day life. Looking a universal theme from a personal angle, the song is an exercise in pressure and release”. This girl is one talented human!
CITY CALM DOWN – Your Fix (I OH YOU)
‘Your Fix’, is the next single from City Calm Down’s critically acclaimed debut LP ‘In A Restless House’ (which is out now through I OH YOU). COVES – Your Evil (1965 Records)
Coves saw out 2015 with the release of ‘Stormy’, which was their the lead single from their sophomore album Peel The second single to be taken from Peel is the guitar driven, soaring pop stomper ‘You’re Evil’. According to singer and lyricist Beck Wood it’s aimed at “people that I used to know who shat on my dreams or were two faced.” Yeahh Girll!!!!
MATT CORBY – Knife Edge (Universal Music)
Matt Corby has today announced his new single Knife Edge – the third song lifted from forthcoming album Telluric (March 11th). Along side the new single Matt also announced details of the national ‘Telluric’ tour with dates through April and May, tickets to the album tour will be released through Matt's official website from 9am on Friday February 12th.
